There are so much fantastic potential across this electorate which vision and hard work can turn into reality, and that is what I intend to do. Better public transport, access to health and education services and more opportunities for our young people form key areas which I intend to pursue.”Paul ‘Basil’ O’Halloran MP, Member for Braddon Paul ‘Basil’ O’Halloran was elected to the Tasmanian House of Assembly in the March 2010 State Election, the first Greens member to represent Braddon since Di Hollister in 1998. Paul O’Halloran grew up on a dairy farm at Preolenna on the North-West Coast, and currently lives outside Ulverstone. Paul’s teaching career has taken him to King Island, and he has also taught at Ulverstone High School and Don College. Paul also has an extensive background in the primary industries sector so expect to see him campaigning for the North West farming and produce community! The Greens have campaigned hard on issues including Royalties for Regions, incentives to attract young education and health professionals to rural and regional areas, a Tarkine National Park and a $23m spend on infrastructure and marketing in the Tarkine region, all of which can broaden the region’s economic base and Paul O’Halloran will take these and other matters to the State Parliament on behalf of the people of Braddon. |
